In this issue we feature the Burrell Collection which has reopened its doors after six years of closure and a £68.25 million refurbishment. The design of the Burrell Collection in 1983 preceded the national regulations that introduced ­­accessibility as a requirement for new buildings. The Burrell Renaissance Project was therefore a one-off opportunity to address and even exceed expectations.

Also featured is the Leicester Cathedral Revealed project will complete the reordering of the cathedral, renew all the building services, and create the new ‘Heritage Learning Centre’ (HLC).  
We also cover the  ‘revealed’ project of the restoration and renewing of Leicester Cathedral,  so that it can be its very best as a place of worship, heritage, pilgrimage, hospitality, learning, sanctuary and celebration.

Exeter Cathedral embarks on its biggest building project in more than a century. The ambitious development project is designed to secure a more sustainable future for the cathedral by attracting more people, providing a better visitor experience, and engaging local communities.

Rochdale Town Hall was designed by the architect William Crossland who won a competition held by the town council in 1864. It has been a much admired public building ever since and is Grade 1 listed. We are proud to feature its restoration, with contributions from FWP Ltd, who have a strong reputation for its expertise on sensitive restoration and regeneration projects and is using all that knowledge to help deliver the Rochdale Town Hall project. Szerelmey,  describe One Bishopsgate Plaza a large scheme designed by PLP Architecture, that was completed a couple of years ago. The project delivered a new 43 story tower which will home Europe’s first Pan Pacific Hotel, private residences, retail spaces and the creation of a large new public plaza on Bishopsgate.

Clement Windows Group  are featured with a project that replaced original Steel Windows at historic school  buildings. Windows are also covered with articles by; Rooflight design, Steel Window Association and Ion Glass.
