Description

Glashütte Lamberts Waldsassen is the last manufacturer in Germany, and one of only a handful worldwide, still producing mouth-blown flat glass by hand. Founded in 1906, the manufactory works in its historic furnace hall in Waldsassen, Bavaria, where around 75 craftspeople turn quartz sand, soda and lime into sheet glass of extraordinary character. In 2023 this traditional craft was recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Every sheet is unique, marked by fine air bubbles, a lively surface and luminous colour. Lamberts holds a comprehensive standard range and produces more than 5,000 colours on request, including genuine and new antique glass, flashed (multilayer) glass, textured and opal glass, genuine roundels, moon discs and hand-cast table cathedral glass. The restauro® / Restoration Glass® line, available with UV and infrared protection, serves the authentic conservation of historic buildings.

Leading architects and artists such as Gerhard Richter, Imi Knoebel, Brian Clarke and Olafur Eliasson trust LambertsGlas® for cathedrals, museums, luxury interiors and landmarks worldwide, from Cologne Cathedral to Big Ben. Whatever the vision, Lamberts advises, develops and delivers colour and light made of glass.
