Description

The establishment of Rickards Period Plastering Ltd allowed us to expand our traditional skill set as an experienced exponent of the vernacular haired chalk mix along with the innovative and pioneering approach extending in to the Eco market where modern and unique building materials such as wood fibre insulation board and hemp construction require a similar sympathetic approach.

Our extensive knowledge of local construction and the built environment along with familiarity with complexities of issues arising from period property housing stock we provide appropriate material applications upon the delicate building fabric and unique build materials of East Anglia, whether these are, timber frame, clay construction, hemp, flint, soft red brickwork.
Through the many contacts that we have built up over the years we have a network of capable trade professionals including: - Framers, Carpenters, Decorators, and Masons/bricklayers, able to compliment project requirements.

Encompassing the provision of the haired / fibre chalk mix, bespoke pargeting, daub and clay plasters through to the new breed of Eco renders.
Whether working within the precious historic environment or upon a unique Architecturally designed  new build we endeavour to provide a skill set and delivery of a product at the height of our industry.

We have been at forefront of the use of lime mixes and the application to the vernacular building stock of East Anglia with innovative materials and their development, such as Haired chalk, Fibre chalk, Thermalime and Warmcoat for nearly twenty years.

Our portfolio does the talking, some of our clients we have been engaged for with a number of years undergoing a scheduled yearly rolling project of plaster works, replacing the degradation of years gone by, inappropriate materials and sometimes poor design.
