Description
Since being established in 2014, Crosby Granger Architects have quickly become one of the leading heritage and conservation architectural practices based in the North West, dedicated to creating architecture that positively impacts people and places.
We seek to repair and preserve the historic built environment, while ensuring viability and sustainability through new design development where appropriate.
Our overriding ethos is excellence in everything and our approach is guided by six principles. Technical: leading experts in traditional materials and techniques. Understated: we understand buildings and respect their environments. Committed: sensitive, sustainable architecture combining the highest levels of conservation and design. Experience: the bedrock on which our practice is built, from conserving medieval castles to designing inspirational homes. Specialist: in heritage conservation and new design development where appropriate. Hands on: we give each project the same impeccable level of attention.
We have successfully delivered repair and regeneration projects for Grade I and II* listed castles, public buildings, country houses, Scheduled Monuments, listed churches and manor houses, as well as new sustainable design while advancing traditional and alternative technologies.
We are specialists in the assessment of historic buildings and structures. This involves giving advice and recommendations on their current condition, options appraisals and feasibility studies for repair and development and, importantly, protection of their ‘sense of place’.
Not only are we a team of specialists in our individual fields, we act as consultants to other architects who need high-level building conservation advice or technical guidance.
