Description

We are a family-owned Bath-based contractor with an excellent track record of delivering complex projects on time and budget. We are unique in having a large directly employed workforce which allows us to bring quality and value to a diverse range of projects, from domestic extensions and renovations to multi-million pound engineering schemes.

Heritage
We take great pride in carrying out a wide range of heritage building projects every year that are both interesting and challenging. Our restoration projects vary in nature, from structural repairs, ornate joinery and masonry work, to complete overhauls of historical monuments, such as Beckford’s Tower in Bath, which we worked on in 1999 and again in 2023.

To carry out these projects effectively, we maintain close working relationships with several specialist architectural practices. These relationships allow us to leverage their expertise and knowledge to help conserve and restore ecclesiastical and religious buildings.

One of our most significant restoration projects to date has been the Bath Abbey Footprint Project, which we completed in 2021. Other recent heritage building projects include,

Refurbishment
A lot of our work involves a wide variety of refurbishment projects in and around the city of Bath. Our refurbishment work is tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients, ranging from small-scale kitchen and bathroom upgrades to complete townhouse renovations.

We take pride in our ability to conserve the traditional Georgian features of these properties while simultaneously upgrading them with modern amenities. Our skilled team is equipped to handle everything from installing new heating systems to integrating smart home technology, ensuring that our clients can enjoy the highest level of comfort and convenience.

Sustainability
Throughout our 75 years of trading Emery Brothers Ltd has provided well-paying steady employment to many time-served craftsmen and women from Bath and the surrounding area. We continue to invest in our workforce and community each year as we take on up to 4 apprentices across stone masonry, plastering, decorating and carpentry with most of these apprentices staying with the company for many years and even rising to senior management positions.

As the majority of our work is carried out within 25 miles of Bath we know the importance of building and maintaining good, sustainable relationships not just with local suppliers and subcontractors but with clients and consultants as well.

As the main contractor for the £19m Bath Abbey Footprint Project, a hugely important restoration and redevelopment project for the city of Bath, we helped facilitate and run dozens of site tours for schools, colleges, universities as well as local authority planning departments and local businesses. Sharing the experience of this once-in-a-generation project was so important and allowed us to engage with other stakeholders especially businesses who were disrupted during the construction phase of the project.
